Spot on about the pronunciation and the plurals (houses vs. mice is my favourite)
I think the rules for the, a, an are pretty clear. Definite vs. indefinite, with an “n” thrown in to avoid hiatus as required. Where do you think it’s incoherent?
I guess the name of the problem is more specifically the “non-use of articles with generics”.
